Do you ever take the time to appreciate the good things in your life? Even when times are tough, do you appreciate the roof over your head or the food on your plate?
There has been a ton of research on the power of gratitude. Being grateful can help both our physical and psychological health; it can improve our relationships and self-esteem too. It really isn’t that hard to do either. All you have to do is try.
I am grateful for:
How did you do? Mine looked a little something like this today:
- I am grateful for the wonderful relationships in my life.
- I am grateful for the clean water I’m currently drinking.
- I am grateful for the ability to write my blogs and share my thoughts.
Like the song goes – it’s easy as 1, 2, 3. And while I’ll admit that some days are easier than others, I find myself noticing things regularly too. I don’t need to make a daily list because the daily list makes itself. I’ll find myself feeling grateful in the moment I’m surrounded by my favourite people. I’ll feel grateful when I’m driving down the highway and a great song comes on. I’ll feel it when I’m out for a walk and the sun shines on my face.
Keep it simple, give it a whirl, and I guarantee you won’t regret it.
